What do legs in a wine mean? One can see the legs of a wine when tilting the glass at an angle.
Two wine elements are primary when it comes to legs in a wine, whether that be red or white.
The first is alcohol. Legs width depends on the amount of alcohol. The higher the alcohol, the thicker and slower the legs roll down the glass.
The second factor is the level of sugar in the wine. For example, in Port wines because of a high sugar level, the legs tend to be very thick and move slowly. Dryer wines will have very few legs.
