The Five Wines of Summer
There are so many different wines in the world that are perfect for the Summer season. Here are the best that we have offered on Wine Text throughout the past year!
2017 Seabold Cellars Pelio Vineyards Dry White Chardonnay
When we talk about whites for the warm weather, Chardonnay may not be the first thing you think of. This one though is an exception. This cool climate white doesn't have the high alcohol, heavy mouthfeel, and heavy oak that classic California Chardonnay tend to have. It is build on fruit, slight richness and clean acidity. This is the kind of wine you will want with your steamed clams, lobster, and other light seafood dishes.

2018 Bold Rorick Heritage Dry Red Zinfandel
Full bodied red are great for going with anything you cook on the grill. A Zinfandel though will take it to the next level. The big fruit flavors and heavy structure of this wine will match the intensity of big meats, but it is the natural spice that Zinfandel adds to the experience that makes it special. This is a great wine to open and drink now, but don't be afraid to lay a couple bottles down for some short term age!

2016 Chateau Boswell Sun Chase Pinot Noir
If white wine isn't for you, but you find it hard to drink your regular reds in the warm weather, you need to try a good, well made Pinot Noir. The lighter style red is way more approachable in the sunlight than wines like Cabernet, Merlot, or Syrah. Sometimes you just need a red wine that will go down easy, and this is where a wine like this will come in. You can drink by itself, or have with some lighter foods, it is completely up to you!

2017 Poggiobello Dry italian Friulano
Lighter white wines are the most common wines consumed in the summer. There is something about chilling them down, sitting in the sun and enjoying a glass of wine. Friulano is an interesting style wine. It is light in structure but full of flavor. White flowers, honey, and lots of stone fruits all brought together by intense mineral notes. White drinking this with light foods is fine, you will ge the best experience drinking it by itself!

2014 Morell Lawrence Concrete Series Dry Washington Syrah
When we think about night time in the summer time, we think about sitting around a camp fire and enjoying a great conversation. Syrah is a great wine to drink by itself, its intense body, structure, and flavor is all you need. A real conversation starter.
