New Beer Report: Local IPAs and Gluten Free Options Galore!

Thanks to our awesome beer drinkers making Wine Library the place to stock up for Thanksgiving, last week left us with a lot of space for new and exciting beers! As always, we've answered the call with the freshest, hardest to find, and most local craft beer around.

Come by to try the latest from New York's KCBC, Singlecut, and Industrial Arts as well as an expanded gluten free section thanks to Washington's Ghostfish brewery.

MODIST NO SAVE POINT

From Minneanapolis, MN comes this Modist brewing collaboration with the hip hop group Run The Jewels. No Save Point is a double dry hopped IPA at 6.7% ABV. It pours a cloudy, dark golden color and is sure to please both music lovers and beer nerds alike!

KCBC JANIAK MANIAC

Our friends at KCBC in New York are always coming up with something new, starting with the craft pilsner Janiak Maniac. This pilsner's crushability is matched with an unfiltered haze, and at 5.5% ABV it's one you'll want to stock up on!

KCBC PENGUINS TAKE MANHATTAN

What exactly penguins and beer have in common remains a mystery, but the deliciousness of this IPA doesn't have to be. Peach and light lemon flavors create this 4.9% ABV session ale, available now in our large selection of NY craft beers.

KCBC CANDY BOMBER

Another new and unique brew from KCBC is Candy Bomber, a strong 8% ABV juiced-up with mango and other citrus fruits. Some slight bitterness is noticeable on the finish of this beer, available for $17.99.

KCBC NIGHTMARE ON TROUTMAN STREET

The latest in KCBC's movie pun beers is Nightmare on Troutman Street, a malty and hoppy IPA that's 6.6% ABV. Pick this one from the shelf of our fully-stocked NY craft beer cooler for $15.99.

KCBC SAVAGE CRUSH

Pouring a thick orange color, Savage Crush is a sour to replace our popular KCBC Marble of Doom and Bushwick Zombie. This fruity gose is crushable at 5.2% ABV.

SINGLECUT WHERE'S THAT CONFOUNDED BRIDGE?

Singlecut continues to turn out double dry hopped IPA, one of which we already feature with This Is Tomorrow. Confounded Bridge is an imperial version of these, at 8.2% ABV.

SINGLECUT KIM CRANBERRY SOUR

We didn't want our sours from KCBC to be lonely in the NY section, so we've brought in Singlecut's Kim. A cranberry sour with milk sugar, this is your perfect day-to-day sour at just 4.2% ABV.

SINGLECUT PEACE IN THE VALLEY

Singlecut calls this their most pairable beer to go with any meal, and at 4.7% ABV it's easy to see why this lager is flying off the shelves. Peace in the Valley is also a collaboration with Threes Brewing in Brooklyn.

MAST LANDING SKY LINES

Melon, grapefruit, and fresh orange juice flavors come out in this double dry hopped IPA from Mast Landing. This Maine brewery's cans are hard to miss in our side fridge of different IPAs, known for their intricate can art. Sky Lines is 7.3% ABV.

MAST LANDING SUNSPOTTING

Inside this bright yellow and red can is an american lager with a twist of lemon and grapefruit. Just 4.7% ABV, Mast Landing says they brewed Sunspotting to "set the moment alight without burning out too quickly.

INDUSTRIAL ARTS TORQUE WRENCH

Beer drinkers coming into the Wine Library have been loving our 12 packs of super crushable Wrench beers from Industrial Arts. For those looking for some extra kick, the double IPA Torque Wrench is now available as well.

A hazy alternative to Wrench, try this four pack of 16 ounce cans at 8.2% ABV for $17.99.

INDUSTRIAL ARTS STATE OF THE ART SERIES: HOPPY BLONDE

While we still have some of the previous State of the Art rotating beers from this NY craft brewery, their latest is a Hoppy Blonde you just can't resist. Compact in flavors and easy-drinking at 5.4%, the price remains the same for this series at $13.99.

GHOSTFISH GRAPEFRUIT

Another exciting addition to the beer selection is a revamped gluten free section with four new beers from Ghostfish. This grapefruit IPA most recently won a 2017 silver medal for gluten free beers at the US Open.

GHOSTFISH METEOR SHOWER

Another award winning beer that's gluten free, Meteor Shower is a simple blonde ale that's 4.5% ABV.

GHOSTFISH VANISHING POINT

Ghostfish promises that Vanishing Point drinkers will have their preconceptions about gluten free beer "vanish into the great beyond", as stone fruit, carmel, and citrus notes are all present in this 5.3% ABV brew.

GHOSTFISH SHROUDED SUMMIT

Shrouded Summit has brought in another slew of awards for this Washington based brewery as their Belgian style white ale. With this style of beer being known for wheat flavors, it's an impressive take from Ghostfish to pull this off without gluten, but this 4.8% beer will leave the drinker with a strong first impression.

Next week's new beer selection will include even more IPAs, a larger selection of non-alcoholic choices, and whatever else our craft brewers come up with! Putting yourself out there to try a new beer can be tough, so ask for Sean when you're in our store and I'd be happy to recommend the perfect pint for any occasion.
